Someone e-mailed me about high-yield savings accounts for businesses. These can be a helpful tool to maximize interest income for all kinds of businesses with idle cash, including sole proprietorships, partnerships, LLC’s, and corporations. Here’s a quick rundown of some favorites.

Saw this on TV. Bank of America is offering a $100 bonus for new checking account customers, both personal and business. A new customer is a “person who is not currently a signer and who was not a signer within the last 6 months on a Bank of America personal or business checking account.” The requirements:
Get $75 when you open a new qualifying personal or business checking account with a $250 deposit and make a purchase with your debit card.

For the first time in what feels like over a year, banks are actually raising some of their rates. Very slightly, but still up. Ally Bank just raised their rates on their online savings account to 1.80% APY, up from 1.75%. Their 12-month CD is also up to 2.05% APY, while ING Direct has a 12-month CD rate of 2.10% APY.

Online bank WT Direct has extended the terms of their $150 bonus promotion such that you only need to have your account funded by August 15th (previously July 31st).

Chase Bank is offering a $100 Bonus coupons for opening a qualifying business checking account with at least $500. You must print out a unique coupon code and bring it in to a local branch.

Online broker TradeKing.com has brought back their $50 sign-up bonus for new accounts as part of celebrating the birthday of the NYSE. If you get a referral from an existing account holder, fund it with at least $1,000, and make a trade, both people will get $50.

Online bank ING Direct has a few specials for Independence Day that (for some reason) are only good until midnight on Friday, July 2nd.
