What the Cheapskate is Reading

I’ve been starting to school shop for my oldest boy who will be starting kindergarten this fall.  I’ve always shopped the back-to-school sales for crayons, glue, scissors, markers and paper, but this year is the first year that I’ve had to shop with a specific list for a teacher.
One of the things that’s been frustrating is finding that the smaller packages of crayons that his teacher wants costs double what a larger box would cost.  I get that buying in bulk is cheaper, but…
Anyway…  here are a few things I’ve been reading recently.  Hope you enjoy.
Alyssa at Keeping the Kingdom First is celebrating Giving Up Credit Cards (2 Years Later).  Guess what? The world doesn’t come to an end if you don’t use a credit card!
If you’ve ever tried to entertain small children (and failed), then you’ll love this post Playing with Young Kids: Never Goes According to Plan at Zen Family Habits.  I love the message of this post.  It’s so important to remember to just have fun.
If your garden is producing a lot of tasty treats, you should check out How to Use a Food Dehydrator to Preserve Your Harvest at Get Rich Slowly.
I’ve had my wallet stolen before, yet, I must admit, I haven’t done all Five Things to Do Before Losing Your Wallet suggested by The Consumerist.  Guess I know what I need to work on!
Money Crush has a good post on Teaching Kids Financial Responsibility.
