Since my family has been making some new food choices in hopes of living a longer/healthier life we have adopted a few “food rules.” Make no mistake, we ENJOY eating, we eat meat, AND we live on a budget – but we are not deprived. This may or may not be similar to your life style… and that is okay. But, here I will share a rule that we have adopted. You can adopt this rule too, or not. Either way, it will be okay with me. =)

Last quarter, almost all of my investments were experiencing positive performance. Three months can make a big difference. My investments tell a different story today.

I got a chance to go shopping at Sam’s Club this week so that I could try out some of the tasty recipes from the Lunchtime for About $1 idea booklet from Kraft and Sam’s Club.
It’s been about 5 years since I’ve set foot in a Sam’s Club (I live about 2 hours away), so it was fun getting reacquainted.

We don’t eat out often but when we do our choices locally are limited.  Since I’ve been doing a lot more cooking from scratch and eating more wholesome and organic foods my palate for fast food has dwindled.  I still love french fries (not sure I’ll ever be able to give up fast food french fries totally!) and we do occasionally eat a meal from a drive thru chain – but I’ve gotten much pickier.

Homemade chicken stock is super easy to make and totally delicious.  The best part is that you can control the ingredients so you can make it organic or natural and you can control the salt.  I love to make my own chicken stock to use in homemade soup, to cook with in several of my dishes, and to saute vegetables, just to name a few.
