It seems Chase has brought back their $100 Checking bonus. To earn the bonus you will need to open a new Chase CheckingSM account by April 30, 2010 with a minimum deposit of $100.

This week marked another hit to consumer loyalty programs when Payment Source and The Consumerist announced that Chase and Starbucks have decided to dis-continue their co-branded Duetto Card at the end of March.  Those customers who had the Duetto Card will see their reward points transferred to a Starbucks card which they will receive in the mail.

Thousands of charity organizations and millions of fans have been watching the Chase Community Giving program on Facebook this past month to see who will be announced as the winner of the $1 million grand prize. Chase announced the winner today, as well as the 5 runners-up who receive $100,000 each.

Despite the recent controversy over some groups being taken out of the running for the grand prize on the Chase Community Giving Campaign, the process has continued with the National Autism Foundation being named as one of the charities in the running for the $1 million grand prize.

Over the past week, a number of large banks that took government funding have repaid or are in the process of repaying their bail out funds, giving back the billions in taxpayer money which was used to keep them a float. Though it is a great sign to see our countries banks get back on their feet, they still have a large leap to make before Americans begin to put their trust back into these institutions. Trust in America’s financial system continues to edge upward according to the latest quarterly findings in the Chicago Booth/Kellogg School Financial Trust Index.
